New Delhi: Addressing a press conference on Friday, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) briefed local reporters about the evacuation program conducted by the Govt of India. Speaking at the conference, MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi stated that nearly 550 people were evacuated in 6 separate flights from Kabul or Dushanbe.

As per the statistics shared by the Centre, the evacuees included Afghan national both Sikh and Hindus along with Indian nationals. Furthermore, Spox Bagchi said that the GoI had repatriated all Indians willing to depart the war torn land.

Mr Bagchi also spoke about the invasion of agencies in Afghanistan outsourcing Indian visas. Reports have surfaced that mentioned a group of people raided the agency that held Afghan national Passports for e-Emergency X-Misc Visa.

It is reported that Foreign Secretary would attend events relating to the conclusion of UNSC presidency. After attending the UNSC briefing in Middle East, the Foreign Secretary would visit New York and Washington DC for bilateral consultations, the source added.
