Mumbai: Four gang members of Lawrence Bishnoi were on Saturday arrested by Police of Navi Mumbai in reportedly planning to attack a superstar car in Panvel. In one of the news agencies, it was stated that the gang was planning to stock the weapons from a Pakistani gun runner for the operation. The first information report (FIR) has been registered against the killers and more than 17 people, including Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol Bishnoi, Sampat Nehra, and Goldy Brar. Persons arrested by the Navi Mumbai police include Dhananjay alias Ajay Kashyap, Gaurav Bhatia alias Nahvi, Waspi Khan alias Wasim Chikna and Rizwan Khan alias Javed Khan. More research is being conducted to discover more about the issue.
This incident happened a few days after two men on a bike shot at Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai’s Bandra on 14. The men involved, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, the shooters who murdered MPs, were arrested in Gujarat later. Another suspect, Anuj Thapan, was arrested on 26th April from Punjab with one other person. However, Thapan passed away on the 1st of May in the Mumbai police’s crime branch lock-up.
Since November 2022, Salman Khan escalated his security level to Y-Plus because of threats from the gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar. This upgrade allows him to take security measures, such as having a personally authorized weapon. He has also added a new car to his fleet of armoured vehicles to increase security.
Before this, his office had received an email in March last year that threatened the 58-year-old actor, pushing the Mumbai Police to file an FIR against Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar, and another man. The offences include sections 120-B of the Indian Penal Code relating to Criminal Conspiracy, sections 506-II of the IPC relating to Criminal Intimidation, and section 34 relating to a common Intention. The FIR was based on a complaint filed with Bandra police by Prashant Gunjalkar, a common visitor to Khan’s Bandra residence and a proprietor of an artist management firm, Noble Artists Services.
