NEW DELHI: The narco-analysis test of Aaftab Poonawala concluded on Thursday at a hospital in Rohini. The accused will be kept under observation for two hours, following which he will be normalized using psychological therapy. He would then be taken to Tihar jail after he regains consciousness, said an official on Thursday.

In PS Mehrauli case FIR No. 659/22 U/S 365/302/201 IPC, the process of NARCO Test of the accused Aaftab has been completed, “Sagar Preet Hooda, IPS, Special CP/Law & Order, Zone II said in a statement.

A senior anesthetist, a psychological expert from FSL, and an OT attendant were present during the test. They were accompanied by photo experts from FSL who recorded statements for evidence. The questionnaire followed a pattern that began with asking his basic details followed by characters relevant to the murder and other relevant details about the cruel murder were asked.

Officials informed that Poonawala reached Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini at 8.40 am. Before undergoing the narco analysis test, a general check was done to check his blood pressure, plus rate, body temperature, and heartbeat. Following his consent, the procedure commenced.

Aaftab confessed to killing his live-in partner during a polygraph test on Tuesday.  The police said Aaftab showed no remorse while accepting his crime. During the test, the accused also confessed that he had chopped and dumped Shraddha’s body parts into the jungle.
