Namo Drone Didi Yojana is a unique scheme. In which Prime Minister Narendra Modi empowers women by focusing on rural India. This scheme will encourage women to become socially and economically independent. With this scheme, Narendra Modi aims to see two crore Lakhpati Didis in rural areas. The mission has been approved, on which Rs. 1261 crore will be spent. Under the scheme, drones will be provided to 14,500 selected women self-help groups during the period 2024-25 to 2025-26 to provide services on rent to farmers.
According to the guidelines, women self-help groups will be given 80 per cent subsidy (maximum Rs 8 lakh) for the purchase of drones, while cluster level organisations of self-help groups will be given 80 per cent subsidy of the total cost. After removing the subsidy, the remaining amount will come in the form of loan, in which 3 per cent interest rebate will be provided by the Centre. They can take loans from banks and other programmes or schemes of the Rural Development Ministry.
Drone pilots will get 15 days training
To avail the benefits of this scheme, the age of the woman should be between 18 and 37 years. Under the scheme, the selected women will be given training to fly drones for 15 days. Women working as Drone Didi will get a salary of Rs 15,000.
