NEW DELHI: Nikki Yadav murder accused Sahil Gehlot was arrested on 14th February. Sahil, a resident of Mitraon village in southwest Delhi is accused of murdering his live in partner Nikhi Yadav. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Archana Beniwal on Wednesday granted the crime branch of Delhi police his custody for five days to interrogate him and ascertain the exact scene of the murder and the route he took after committing the alleged crime, media reports indicated.
The incident came to fore on Valentines day when the police was informed about Nikki missing from the past few days. Probe revealed that Sahil in his car using the data cable of his mobile phone in Delhi reportedly strangulated her to death. He took her out of the house on the pretext of going to a hill station said sources.
As per reports, the 24-year-old man strangled 22 year old Nikki on the intervening night of February 9 and 10 and kept her body inside a refrigerator of his dhaba (eatery) in southwest Delhi. The police have learnt that the duo had an argument after the deceased allegedly came to know that Sahil was getting engaged to another woman on February 9 and getting married the next day.
It has been claimed that she was threatening to implicate Sahil in a case if he married another woman,” sources said.
