Mumbai: In the ever-evolving political landscape of Maharashtra, Beed, a city in the Marathwada region, has recently found itself at the epicenter of significant political events. After NCP president Sharad Pawar led a significant public rally in Beed, Ajit Pawar, representing a different faction of the same party, is gearing up to host another rally on August 27 in the same venue.
State Agriculture Minister Dhananjay Munde shared insights about the forthcoming event: “The NCP has earmarked its public gathering on August 27. The dais will witness powerful speeches from Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and other top-tier leaders of the party.” The intention behind this series of events seems clear: a rejuvenation and reassertion of the party’s might and vision. Sharad Pawar’s previous rally, organized on August 17 in Beed, was perceived as a symbolic move, given the city’s reputation as Munde’s home turf, a known Ajit Pawar confidant.
Complicating the dynamics further, Churchill Alemao, Goa’s former chief minister, has announced his departure from the Trinamool Congress (TMC). This has intensified rumours of his possible association with the Ajit Pawar-led NCP faction.
His recent meeting with Rajya Sabha MP and Ajit group’s luminary, Praful Patel, in Mumbai has fueled these speculations. Though Alemao acknowledged his switch to TMC before Goa’s previous Assembly polls, he has maintained suspense about his next political move, keeping observers and political analysts guessing.
