Mumbai Police on Wednesday raided Nathwan Patti in Haryana’s Kaithal and arrested 29-year-old Amit Hisamsing Kumar in connection to the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. Eleven people were detained in connection with the case after Kumar was nabbed. Earlier, on Sunday, the police nabbed Bhagwat Singh Om Singh, 43, a scrap dealer from Navi Mumbai, who is believed to be the person from whom the killer got the weapon. Singh, who hails from Udaipur, Rajasthan, is said to have provided the gun used by the men who shot Baba Siddique dead on October 12, 2024.
This murder occurred close to the office of Siddique’s son, Zeeshan Siddique, and three gunmen did the execution. Bisha has been murdered with two sharpshooters, Gurmail Baljit Singh (23) and Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap (19), arrested; the main shooter, Shivkumar Gautam, along with two others involved in the conspiracy, is still evading arrest. The police have not rested in their search for Gautam, who is one of the prime suspects in the murder.
As per the findings of the probe, the hired guns were trained at Karjat near Mumbai in August 2024 as a part of the prehost preplanning spree of the murder. The police added that the original conspirators had initially sought ₹50 lakh for the murder but backed out after a disagreement on the amount and the control of the NCP leader. Even though they decided to withdraw from the murder plan, they assisted the shooters in various ways.
Some of the others have been arrested include Nitin Gautam Sapre, aged 32 Nitin Gautam Sapre (32), Sambhaji Kisan Pardhi, aged 43; Pradeep Dattu Thombre, aged 37; Chetan Dilip Pardhi, aged 27 and Ram Fulchand Kanoujia aged 43. Sapre belongs to Dombivli, but the rest are from Ambernath, which falls in the Thane district, and Panvel is in the Raigad district. The Mumbai-based Crime Branch has also continued the hunt for the remaining suspects as the affair develops.
