Mumbai: A 51-year-old senior medical officer from Sewri TB hospital died of Covid-19, a day after posting a parting message on Facebook. Dr. Manisha Jadav, a tuberculosis specialist who hails from Mumbai made a post on Facebook indicating that she may not survive anymore.
The Indian Medical Association stated that about 18,000 doctors have contracted the deadly virus since last March, but few have been adequately compensated.
Jadav wrote in the post, “Maybe last Good Morning. I may not meet you here on this platform. Take care all. Body dies. Soul doesn’t. Soul is immortal”.
Many doctors and health care professionals have been posting various social media messages, warning others against dropping their guard and also expressing their anguish over the second wave of the pandemic.
Dr. Trupti Gilada, a traumatized Mumbai physician said in a video message, “We are helpless…never seen such a situation before…people are panicking..” She was in tears by the pathetic situation of the patients. She further added, “I am heartbroken. Maybe if I tell you what worries me…if I can help you understand, I might be more at Peace”. These various messages come as India reported over 2.9 lakh cases in the last 24 hours.
