Bhopal: Ahead of the Urban Body and Panchayat elections in MP, the government has decided to constitute Deendayal Antyodaya Samiti in all cities and villages. These committees will be designated to form a pathfinder and deliver the government schemes to the backward classes. Additionally, they will also be authorized to monitor and implement the schemes appropriately.
Sources from the ruling party reveal the list is to be constituted shortly under the surveillance of the collectors and municipal commissioners. The collector will authorize the office bearers of the village panchayat and block level committees. The District Level Antyodaya Samiti will be headed by the Minister-in-Charge, while the State Level Committee will be headed by the Chief Minister. These committees are determined to be active for 5 years and will form a single path of communication between the state and the central administration.
The village panchayat would have 5-5 members, town panchayat would comprise of 7-7 members, while 11-11 members each would be appointed in the block and municipality level committees. The district-level would constitute 25 members and 51 members would be included in State level Antyodaya Samiti.
It is reported that Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan convened with State President VD Sharma on Sunday to chalk out the strategy.
It should be recalled that Shivraj Singh during 2018 had implemented a similar strategy regardless of which his party failed to gain power.
