MP Govt Constitutes State Level Task Force to Access the Damage Caused by the Floods and Aid Rehabilitation

Bhopal: To monitor and address the loss endured by the state, CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s govt constituted a state level task force. The task force would look over relief and rehabilitation works after floods, and reconstruction of damaged assets.

The State level task force constituted by the General Administration Department includes Home Minister Narottam Mishra, Public Works Minister Gopal Bhargava, Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silavat, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Bisahulal Singh, Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh, Farmers-Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Kamal Patel, Revenue Minister Govind Singh Rajput, Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Prabhuram Chaudhary, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Mahendra Singh Sisodia, Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister Prem Singh Patel and Minister of State for Public Health Engineering Brijendra Singh Yadav . The Additional Chief Secretary will be the convener of the Home Task Force.

Additionally, the state govt also approached the centre to immediately deploy an inter-ministerial central team to assess the damage in the eight districts namely, in the Gwalior and Chambal division of the state. 

Addressing the Union Home Minister of Affairs (Disaster Management Department), Principal Revenue Secretary Manish Rastogi  in a written letter urged additional assistance under the National Disaster Relief Fund.

For the year 2020-21 the state was provided provision of RS 2427 crore out of which Rs 485.4 were earmarked for Mitigation and Rs 970 had been secluded for COVID-19 crisis. Citing the resurgence, the Principal Revenue Secretary appealed for additional assistance from NDRF stating the residual amount wouldn’t be sufficient to initiate relief to the flood affected areas.
