An 18-year-old girl has been gangraped by three of her friends on a picnic trip. A class 12 student, the girl went on a picnic to Mandav with the 3 accused and another female friend. Reportedly, one of the accused was the girl’s boyfriend. In the police complaint, the girl stated that the accused boys mixed sedatives on her cold drink and she felt unconscious after drinking that. The incident occurred under the Lasudia police station.
A statement by the local police claimed, “Once she fell unconscious she was taken to a secluded room in Scheme-78 under Lasudia police station jurisdiction and gang-raped. The survivor, after gaining consciousness and realizing the situation, escaped from the crime scene. The girl borrowed a phone from a passerby and informed her parents”. The three accused have been identified as Nipul, Riteish, and Ashish. According to the police, two of them belong to other states. Though they are absconding now, the Indore police team is taking all measures to nab them at the earliest.
Indore SP Asutosh Bagri says, “An FIR has been registered under several Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections against four people, including a girl. Several teams have been formed to nab all the perpetrators at the earliest”. It is suspected that the 3 accused took the girl out with criminal intent after befriending her.
The girl’s parents also talked to the media and said they want strict actions against the perpetrators. “Our daughter called us and informed us about the incident. On learning about the incident we rushed to the location she mentioned and registered a case against four. We want the law to take stringent action against all the accused”, her parents said. Further investigation is on for the case.
