After the Taliban occupied Afghanistan, In India, the religious fiasco has become the talk of the town in several parts with leaders and politicians taking advantage of it. The recent case to come forward is that of MP BJP leader Ramratan Payal. Upon asking about the increasing rates of petrol and diesel in the country, he targeted a journalist asking him to “go to Taliban” to get cheaper petrol.
He also lectured on the following covid protocol team whereas he was surrounded by people, who were all unmasked. Here is what he said, “Go to Taliban. Petrol is being sold at ₹50/litre in Afghanistan. Go and refill your petrol there (Afghanistan), where nobody is there to refill the fuel. At least here (India) we have safety. The third wave of coronavirus is about to come while two Covid waves India has already faced”. He further added, “You are a reputed journalist. Do you even realize the kind of situation in the country? How (Narendra) Modiji is controlling the situation. He is still giving free ration to 80 crore people”.
Ramratan was pitted on a tree-planting program when he made such comments. He is not the first to give such comments. His Bihar colleague, bjp chief Haribhushan Thakur had earlier said, “those who feel scared here can go there… petrol and diesel are cheaper. Once there, they will understand the value of India”. Petrol prices have crossed the mark of Rs 100 in most places and diesel prices have also crossed Rs 90 and yet such comments are being made by the leaders of the ruling party.
