Modi, who is the Prime Minister, launched his two-day trip to Gujarat with a large roadshow in Vadodara on Monday. It is his first time in his home state since the recent Operation Sindoor, where the Pakistan military targets terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Kashmir. Thousands of excited people followed the roadshow, which motivated more significant projects to come.

The Prime Minister is set to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several infrastructure projects worth 82,950 crore at Dahod, Bhuj and Gandhinagar. It has been mentioned by officials that almost ₹53,414 crore will go towards developing Bhuj, a region recently hit by Pakistani drones in response to the cross-border strikes. Bhuj projects involve significant improvements in the port at Kandla, solar power, the power grid and roadways and public buildings.

In Kharod’s project parade, Modi will be launching schemes worth more than ₹24,000 crore. A key project is the Locomotive Manufacturing Shop, built at an expense of ₹21,405 crore and where the first 9000 HP locomotive will make its debut. Besides, the Prime Minister will initiate several railway infrastructure projects valued at Rs 2287 crore, which include increasing the capacity of major railways, electric power on the Sabarmati–Botad line and changing the gauge of the Kalol–Kadi–Katosan line.

On the second day, Modi will officially open the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Gandhinagar and 22,000 homes that have been newly built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which cost ₹1,006 crore. In Ahmedabad, the prime minister will launch the project for a new hospital with 1800 beds, with 500 beds for patients with infectious diseases. The government will also send cheques of ₹2,731 crore to 17 municipal corporations and ₹569 crore to 149 municipalities through the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.
