Large-scale mock drills are run throughout 35 Indian states and Union Territories and their 259 districts to increase readiness for potential emergency situations following rising tensions with Pakistan. Through this initiative the authorities intend to develop essential survival and emergency response skills for all citizens.

The mock drills occur with direct coordination from India’s Operation Sindoor, which unites forces between the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Under Operation Sindoor, the military executed nine terror camp assaults throughout Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) by hitting targets in Sialkot and Muridke as well as Bahawalpur and Muzaffarabad and Kotli, and Bhimber. Operation Sindoor’s retaliatory strikes targeted terror camps throughout Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir as an action in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 Indian tourists on April 22.

CSMT’s platforms 7 and 8 hosted a major drill where railway personnel taught civilian participants proper firefighting methods. Central Railway CPRO Dr. Swapnil Nila declared that CSMT got a mock drill from the Central Railways Civil Defence unit to show their readiness and public education response capabilities.

A high-visibility drill took place at Khan Market as part of security exercises running throughout Delhi. In cases of structural collapse, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Deputy Commandant Ratish Kumar explained that our Medical First Responders (MFR) teams possess full training capabilities to deliver prompt rescue and medical care for victims.

A joint exercise in Amritsar, Punjab, brought together police forces and defense personnel as they performed demonstrations of emergency protection and rescue capabilities. Participating forces showed through their demonstrations both their readiness and their quick response capabilities to deal with threats and disasters.

These proactive drills advance civil defense while reminding public audiences about preparedness as we face increased national security threats.
