Maharshtra: Maharashtra Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ravi Rana has reportedly called off the protest citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mumbai visit. Ravi Rana and his wife independent Member of Parliament (MP) Navneet Rana had threatened to chant Hanuman Chalisa outside Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray’s residence, Matoshree.
Shiv Sena workers gathered in large numbers outside the apartment of Amravati MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana in Mumbai this morning, and shouted slogans showing-casing solidarity with the MLA Rana and wife.
Amidst hightened security, party workers attempted to surpass barricades and tried to enter the premises of the legislator couple’s residence in Suburban Khar, however, the police brought the situation under control.
Security was beefed up around CMs residence while police personnel were deployed at the couples apartment as the Shiv Sena workers staged protests and dared the couple to step out of their residence.
The couple on Friday were served a notice, asking them not to disturb the law and order situation in the city.
The alleged protest by the political couple stemmed from derogatory remarks where he slammed Uddhav Thackeray over the issue of idealogy claiming that the Maharashtra Chief Minister had deviated from the ideology practiced by Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray.
