Andhra Pradesh: A minor who was coerced into prostitution for over eight months was rescued by the Guntur Police in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday. The probe revealed the 13-year-old girl was raped for eight months by over 80 men. The police informed that only ten men including a B.Tech student were nabbed on Tuesday. A lookout notice for the remaining accused absconding has been generated. Out of the 80, 35 pimps, few Kingpins and the rest are identified as customers.

As per preliminary investigations, it is learnt that the girl was missing since 2021, following which her father had approached the police and filed a complaint. Reportedly the girl was taken away by a woman Swarna Kumari after the victim’s mother died of COVID-19 in June last year. Sources reveal the father was unaware of the incident and so had filed a complaint.

Based on the complaint, Swarna Kumari has been identified as the main accused. The first arrest in the case was sought in January this year. The police on the interrogation of the arrested, learnt the girl was forced into prostitution by Swarna- who befriended the young girl and bought her along. Around 53 cell phones, one car, three autorickshaws and bikes have been seized from the accused arrested from Vijaywada, Hyderabad and Kakinada.
