NEW DELHI: A 16 year old girl was brutally murdered by a man Delhi’s slum cluster in Rohini’s Shahbad Dairy area in public view. The incident has been recorded on the CCTV cameras installed in the area.
The accused identified as Sahil, boyfriend of the victim allegedly attacked her while she was going for a party. He suddenly intercepted her and stabbed her repeatedly with a knife and hit her on her head with stones. As per the details extracted from the footage, the boy stabbed her over 20 times and to feed his famished vengence he further went on to hit her on her head with stones.
Preliminary investigation revealed the duo had a quarrel which prompted Sahil to take this ferocious step. Sahil is arrested and an FIR under Section 302 of the IPC at PS Shahbad Dairy has been registered on the complaint of the deceased’s father.
The incident attracted political attention as CM Kejriwal targeted the L-G over the incident. “A minor girl is brutally murdered openly in Delhi. This is very sad and unfortunate. The criminals have become fearless, there is no fear of the police. L-G sir, law and order is your responsibility, do something. The safety of the people of Delhi is of paramount importance,” Kejriwal tweeted.
Meanwhile, Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal tweeted, “The audacity of the criminals in Delhi is alarming. Issuing a notice to the police. All limits have been crossed. In my entire career, I have never witnessed anything as horrifying as this.”
