DELHI: The Facebook page Ministry of Home Affairs has mistakenly shared the pictures of the two Royal stag whisky along with the Amphan relief works that are carried out by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). The Facebook users loaded with laughter and flooded the comment section with comical replies. However, few users slashed against the person handling the social media account and demanded strict action.
The Facebook post shared the picture of the bottles of ‘Royal Stag’ whisky along with the Amphan relief works. The picture was immediately taken down from the social media account. In Bengal, ‘Royal Stag’ concluded to be the middle-class choice, next to ‘Black Label’, as the price of others is up in the lockdown.
After the picture was taken down immediately, a journalist identified as Kamaljit Sandhu took Twitter to confirm that it was an ‘inadvertent mistake’. “Mha sources: This is an inadvertent mistake on part of the member handling the MHA page. There was a mix up on personal & MHA Page or perhaps inadvertent page selection. The person handling the handle has apologised in writing. The picture was removed at 9:32am. Embarrassing”, she tweeted.
The netizens were amused to see the comical mistake. A Facebook user named, Soumalya Biswas commented, “This is proof that everyone needs to relax, grown-up men and women don’t need to drink milk all the time… after such back-breaking work, the team needs some relaxation.”
Another twitter page posted “When you are in a government job, you can afford only Royal Stag”.
Mohammed Zubair, fact-checker at Alt News showed anger “Who’s handling the Ministry of Home Affairs Facebook page? Post deleted.”
A mark of confusion and humor arose with the post. The post was deleted immediately.
