New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced a 10 Per cent reservation for ex-Agniveers in vacancies in Central Police Reserve Force. This announcement comes a few days after the MHA announced a 10 per cent reservation for former Agniveers in Border Security Force (BSF).

The announcement for reservation has been made via a notification after amending the rules made under the Central Industrial Security Force Act of 1968. The ministry also notified relaxation in the upper age limit on whether they are first batch of Agniveers or later batches. Apart from the upper limit age relaxation, ex-agniveers will also be exempted from the physical efficiency test.

The program to recruit soldiers has been cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Security. The reservation includes women for only four years with a provision to retain 25% of them in the regular cadre for 15 more years after another round of screening, to enhance the operational preparedness of the armed forced.it will also create a skilled and dynamic workforce ready for employment in other sectors.
