New Delhi: The Indian Embassy in Kyiv issued an advisory for those travelling or residing in Ukraine. Meanwhile, shortly after the second Ukraine bound carrier returned to New Delhi, MEA has been extensively holding a dialogue looking for alternative routes to evacuate its citizens living in the crises hit eastern European nation.
According to information by an insider, high-level meetings are being held to work out contingency plans and find alternative evacuation routes for thousands stranded in the ex-Soviet Union. The control room is being expanded and made operational 24 hours a day to deal with the situation, the source further said.
The advisory issued by the Indian Embassy read- All those who are travelling to Kyiv, including those travelling from western parts of Kyiv, are advised to return to their respective cities temporarily, especially towards safer places along the western bordering countries.
Air raid sirens were up in early in the morning on Thursday, after Putin in an address made a surprise announcement declaring invasion in the recently recognized individual nations- Donetsk and Luhansk – cities in the eastern province of Ukraine. Sirens were heard through Odesa, Kharkiv, Kramatorsk and Mariupol as the Russian militia barged into the territory.
Series of blasts were heard in Kyiv, the nation’s capital after which NATOM was issued. As the large scale military operations unfolded in eastern Ukraine, all commercial flights were suspended warning of air space compromised.
