NASHIK: A massive fire broke out after a blast in Igatpuri in Maharashtra’s Nashik district on Sunday morning. The explosion that took place in a broiler of a factory has so far has not claimed any lives, sources in the know said.
However, at least 250 workers were present in the premises of the Jindal company’s plant in Gonde village of Igatpuri when the fire broke out. Atleast 14 people have been hospitalized ,5 among them are critical. Residents woke up to a fiery morning after chilling on the New Year’s Eve on Saturday. Fire tenders and emeregency personnel were immedaitely deployed.
Nashik Collector Gangatharan D. and Nashik Rural Superintendent of Police Sachin Patil are reviewing the situation. Rural Development Minister Dada Bhuse, who is the Guardian Minister of Nashik district, was also seen at the spot. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also visited the spot this afternoon take stock of the damage.
The exact cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained.
