The father of the RG Kar victim told the media that he requested CBI to secure footage of CCTV cameras that were focused at the hospital’s seminar hall, where the crime took place, and all other hospital entry and exit points.

After the letter’s sharing by CBI with SC, the bench stated, “Bearing in mind the genuineness of the concerns, we are of the view that the inputs which have been furnished by the father of the deceased should be duly taken note of by the Investigating officer so that appropriate modalities are followed to explore the leads which have been indicated in the letter”.

To ease the parents’ concerns and apprehensions, SG Mehta gave the court the assurance that the CBI would stay in touch with them and provide them with updates going forward. Additionally, he stated that some of the concerns expressed in the letter have already been investigated.

The deceased’s father also requested the investigating officer to keep call records of his daughter. He claimed that even a few hours before she was murdered after being sexually assaulted, she was in regular contact with them.

He asked the CBI to seize the roster duty chart so they could find out which medical professionals, including doctors and nurses, were on duty at RG Kar Hospital on August 9th, along with his daughter. At last, the father said that even though they have faith in the legal system to bring their daughter’s case to justice, they feel extremely helpless and anxious. Ghosh ‘intentionally’ avoided crime scene, says CBI

Sandip Ghosh, the arrested former principal of RG Kar Hospital, was “wilfully absent” from the campus on August 9, when he was supposed to be there “taking necessary steps for preservation of the scene of crime” till police arrived to investigate the rape-murder of a junior doctor, the CBI stated on Wednesday in a submission to a magisterial court, according to Rohit Khanna.

From his call logs, the CBI noticed that by that point, Ghosh had communicated with multiple people, including hospital representatives and possibly someone he might have been “taking orders” from. Investigators suspect the crime scene had been tampered with.

“Ghosh further failed to ensure registration of a proper FIR under the appropriate section of the law. It is required to be ascertained whether he acted in such a manner on the direction of any other persons in furtherance of a larger conspiracy,” states CBI’s report to the additional chief judicial magistrate’s court in Sealdah.
