New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised healthcare workers on Sunday for their “tireless hard work” in ensuring the success of India’s COVID-19 vaccination. On the 82nd episode of his monthly radio show, ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ the Prime Minister addressed the nation. On Friday, October 22nd, India achieved the 1 billion vaccination milestone. PM Modi highlighted that this success was the product of lakhs of healthcare workers across the country working tirelessly. He expressed his gratitude to every citizen.
He said, “The success of our vaccination drive shows India’s capability and the strength of ‘sabka prayas’ (collective effort) mantra.” After reaching the milestone of 100 crore Covid vaccination shots, Modi stated that the country is moving forward with renewed vigour and excitement.
He also added that the government implemented a new drone policy on August 25 this year in order to shift people’s thinking and adopt new trends. He went on to say that since the regulation was implemented, several foreign and domestic startups have invested in drone start-ups.
According to him, India is also attempting to increase the popularity of Yoga and traditional wellness approaches. He also praised the increase in the number of female police officers, noting that it has increased from 1.05 lakh in 2014 to over 2.15 lakh now. He urged people to buy local products throughout the festive season, referring to the ‘voice for local’ campaign.
