New Delhi: Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi, reported today in an interview that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was pursuing him because the government was upset with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for receiving praise both domestically and internationally for its “commendable” efforts in the fields of education and healthcare.

Meanwhile, CBI said on Sunday that the bureau is likely to issue a lookout circular (LOC) against all accused in the Delhi Excise Policy Scam.

Delhi Bhartiya Janta Party Chief, Adesh Gupta said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is the ‘kingpin’ of the excise policy scam. He also tweeted pointing out Delhi CM to declare Manish Sisodia as unfaithful.

Contrarily, Manish Sisodia accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “misusing” the central investigating agencies against political opponents. According to Mr Sisodia, the government tries to frighten the leaders of his party since they see Arvind Kejriwal as the major opponent of PM Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

“Arvind Kejriwal considers issues related to healthcare, education, and employment, while PM Narendra Modi stills consider launching raids of the CBI and ED against his political rivals”, Mr. Sisiodia added.
