On the occasion of World Health Day, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya was joined by 350 others participated in the ‘Health for All’ walkathon organized by the former. The Walkathon passed from Vijay Chowk to Nirman Bhawan in central Delhi and crossed the Kartavya Path and India Gate. The march was aimed at spreading awareness about healthy habits in order to keep away noncommunicable diseases and promote mental well-being. Minister of State Health Bharti Pravin Pawar also accompanied Mandaviya.
Thanking people for being part of the walkathon, Mandaviya said, “India has the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam where we think about the progress of all and not just self. This philosophy was followed during the Covid crisis when India provided vaccines and medical supplies to the countries in need without considering any commercial profits… India has been at the forefront of helping every stakeholder. With this spirit, India is working for the health of its citizens and the world.”
Meanwhile, World Health Day 2023 marks the 75th anniversary of the top health governing body-the WHO. The organization was founded on April 7th, 1948. This day is aimed at drawing attention to prevailing health conditions and their solutions. This year the top health body presses on ‘Health for All’. Under the theme ‘Health for All’ the WHO aims to provide an opportunity for the world to reflect on public health triumphs over the decade that have helped people’s life.
