Muzaffarnagar: A group of unknown assailants allegedly raped a wife, in presence of the husband in an isolated area while the couple walked back home, said police on Friday.
Reportedly, a couple was returning home on Wednesday night, when 10 unknown people intercepted and took them to a nearby orchard and tied the husband to a tree. Following this, the accused took turns to rape his wife in front of the other six.
After escaping the incident, the victims lodged a complaint at New Mandi police station on Thursday and the 10 accused, including two minors, have been nabbed, SP (City) Arpit Vijayvargiya said.
The woman has been sent for medical examination and her statement will be recorded before a magistrate under the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) section 164 very soon, Station House Officer (SHO) Pankaj Panth said.
