Orissa: A 32-year-old man married a transwoman in Orissa’s Kalahandi district with prior approval from his wife.
The marriage took place in Narla after the man fell in love with the transgender lady whom he met on the streets. It is weird to hear that the wife of the mid-aged man approved of the marriage and also agreed to stay with her under the same roof.
Notably, the man father of a two-year-old son met the transwoman last year at Ambadola in the Rayagada district. A month ago, the man’s wife got a hunch about her husband’s regular conversations with the transwoman. On confronting him, the man admitted to having an affair with the transwoman and told his wife he was serious about the relationship. His wife agreed to accept the transwoman in her family.
After obtaining his wife’s approval, the man solemnised his marriage with the transwoman at a small function in the presence of limited guests, including members of the transgender community, at a temple in Narla.
