New Delhi: While thanking all supporters for standing with the wrestlers, Vinesh Phogat today requested supporters to cooperate with authorities and police when they join them for the mahapanchayat at Jantar Mantar tomorrow.
The protesting wrestlers have organized a mahapanchayat tomorrow hoping for it to be huge success and will help them to get more support for them in their fight against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
“Today is the 14th day of our sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar. The fact is that supporters are here and we are here too. We would like to thank all who are sitting with us here and supporting us. We would like to thank the entire country for standing with us in this fight for justice”, said Vinesh Phogat while addressing the press at Jantar Mantar today evening.
Top wrestlers of India including Olympic medalist Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik, and Vinesh Phogat are protesting for the last two weeks, demanding to sack Brij Bhushan as WFI chief and his arrest because of the alleged sexual harassment of women grapplers. Bajrang has also appealed the masses to observe a candlelight march at 7Pm on May 7 to show solidarity with protesting grapplers.
