Bhopal: A fatal accident was reported today morning after an autorickshaw rammed into a speeding bus in the Old Chawni area in Gwalior. The auto-rickshaw carried 13 passengers who were returning from work. “The accident happened around 7 am when the women, who were cooks at an ”Anganwadi Kendra” were returning home after work, Gwalior SP Amit Sanghi said. Police have reported nine spot deaths which included the auto driver and eight women, while the others succumbed to death due to injuries.
CM Shivraj Chauhan announces Ex-Gratia
Taking cognizance of the accident, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan mourned for the dead and announced that the state government will provide Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia each to the kin of the deceased and 50 thousand for the injured. His Twitter handle read- ” “I and the people of the state are with mournful families in this hour of grief. They should not consider themselves alone. 4 lakhs will be given to each deceased’s family and Rs 50 thousand will be given to the injured from the state government”.

Turning to Twitter, the Home Minister expressed grief over the accident and announced relief funds for the king of the deceased. His tweet in Hindi read” “The sad news of the death of 13 people in the collision of a passenger bus and auto-rickshaw on Morena Road in Gwalior is disturbing. May God grant the departed soul’s peace and the family to bear this profound sorrow. The government will provide 4 lakh rupees to each deceased’s family and Rs 50 thousand to the injured”.
