Bhopal: The Monsoon session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly is scheduled to commence on August 9. The session would see a total of 4 sittings during the 4-day duration, which concludes on August 12. 

Besides the question hour, the house would also address other necessary official businesses. Citing the rising infections of COVID-19, the state administration has restricted protests and sloganeering. 

On the contrary, flouting the administration orders, the opposition Congress has announced a protest on inflation against the government. It has decided to siege the State Legislative Assembly on 11 August. 

However, today the Youth Congress has planned to stage agitation and protest against inflation across the state. Following which Mahila Congress on August 8th would also protest on the same discipline. Subsequently, on August 9th, the Scheduled  Castes and Tribes Department of the Congress declared a protest against policies of the BJP government. 

In view of the protests, the state authorities have declared the Old jail Complex and BHEL Dussehra ground as temporary jails in order to take in protestors if violence breaks out.
