Tensions flared in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday morning after a huge throng of Muslims carrying out an Eid Milad ul Nabi procession barged into a prohibited area. The incident occurred in Dhar’s Pinjarwadi neighbourhood when a number of procession members attempted to force their way into a restricted area. They tore down the police barricades and demanded that the parade be rerouted through the restricted area. When the police asked them to follow a predetermined route, the group objected and got into a fight with the officers.

The situation, according to a senior police officer, is now under control. He went on to say, “So far, no case has been registered.” Police Superintendent Aditya Pratap Singh, on the other hand, claimed that the police are working to identify the criminals. “The culprits will face severe punishment,” Singh stated
