Madhya Pradesh: As the rain wreaked havoc in the state, 4 districts of MP have been flooded. CM Shivraj Singh called for an emergency meeting of his cabinet to chalk out the strategy to deal with the current situation. In view of the natural calamity, the state govt has urged the neighboring states to aid help, following which an NDRF team from Lucknow was deployed to Sheopur.
Nearly 1171 villages of Madhya Pradesh namely, Shivpuri, Sheopur, Gwalior and Datia have witnessed huge devastation. It is reported that 200 villages in Shivpuri have submerged underwater. So far, individuals from 22 villages have been relocated under the rescue operation.
During the emergency meeting, the Shivpuri district collector said that 100 people have been rescued this morning. It is reported that the rescue operation for evacuation of people in Dongar, Bichhi village, Pohriand Kolaras areas of Sheopur village is still under process. Whereas, the Datia collector informed that 6 villages were submerged due to the incessant rains.
Despite, a team of 5 officers from the Rescue Group of the Air Force deployed to conduct the rescue operations, Captain Sherawat informed that the teams couldn’t initiate the operation due to the unfavorable weather.
Currently, Madhya Pradesh is witnessing an appalling weather where connectivity to remote areas is lost, several have been displaced and many are still under the rubble.
