LPG Cylinder Price: There will be a Huge relief for all households as oil companies have announced a cut in the prices of LPG cylinders on Tuesday. Companies have cut the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 41. This will provide relief to businessmen with food and cooking business. The price of a commercial LPG cylinder in the national capital Delhi has now gone up to Rs 1,762 per cylinder. However, there has been no change in the prices of domestic gas cylinders. This is the 11th consecutive month when there has been no change in the prices of domestic gas cylinders.
After the reduction in the price of commercial LPG cylinders, the price of a 19 kg cylinder in Mumbai has become Rs 1,714.50 (earlier Rs 1,755.50), Rs 1,872 in Kolkata (earlier Rs 1,913) and Rs 1,924.50 in Chennai (earlier Rs 1,965.50). Let us tell you that in India also, oil companies revise the prices of oil and gas on the first of every month based on the global price of crude oil and other market factors.
Just last month, on March 1, 2025, oil companies had raised the price of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 6 across major cities. This hike came after a Rs 7 cut in February, reflecting the ongoing volatility in the market. This latest cut in commercial LPG cylinder prices is part of a broader pattern of volatility in fuel prices, reflecting changes in the international energy market.
There is no change in the price of domestic gas cylinder
According to the data received from IOCL, there has been no change in the price of domestic gas cylinders. According to the data, the price of a domestic gas cylinder in the country’s capital Delhi is Rs 803, in Kolkata Rs 829, in Mumbai Rs 802.50, and in Chennai Rs 818.50. The last change in the price of domestic gas cylinders was seen on 9 March 2024. Then there was a fall of Rs 100 in the price of domestic gas cylinders. Before March, the price of domestic gas cylinders had come down in August 2023. Then the government reduced the price of domestic gas cylinders by Rs 200.
In the last few years, food and cooking related businesses have faced unexpected increase in costs. In March 2023, the prices of commercial LPG cylinders saw a sharp jump of Rs 352, affecting the operating costs of restaurants and other establishments. Despite these fluctuations, the prices of domestic LPG cylinders have remained unchanged for several months, giving some relief to the common people.
