Delhi: The inaugural session of the Global Buddhist Summit was addressed by PM Narendra Modi today afternoon. While attending the session, Narendra Modi spoke about the benefits which Lord Buddha’s teachings have given and impacted many people worldwide. This summit is hosted by the Ministry of Culture and the International Buddhist Federation (IBC).

The summit is being held for two days, 20 and 21 April. This event took place in Hotel Ashok, located in New Delhi. PM Modi started his inaugural speech by talking about the current world situation and the challenges like war, poverty, terrorism, and much more that the world is facing. He continued by saying that the teachings of Lord Buddha have helped the world a lot to pass through these challenges.

At the Global Buddhist Summit, PM Modi said, The noble teachings of Gautam Buddha have impacted countless people over centuries. Inspired by the teachings of Lord Buddha, India is taking new initiatives for global welfare,” 

Later on, PM Modi also visited the Buddha Exhibition in New Delhi. Many Indian Buddhist Artists were also a part of this summit, along with other national leaders. The discussions held over here will be done under four themes: Buddha Dhamma and Peace, Buddha Dharma, Living Heritage and Buddha Relics, and Preservation of Nalanda Buddhist Tradition.
