Rae Bareli: The Lok Sabha has passed the Waqf Amendment Bill, receiving 288 votes in favour of the Bill, 232 votes against the Bill. The Amendment Bill was put to test on the floor of the House. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking in the Lower House in support of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill stated, “Unknowingly or for political reasons, there are Opposition MPs are spreading several misinformation. Waqf means ‘donation for religious charities in the name of Allah’.
At 1.56 am, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced the passing of the bill. 288 votes were cast in favor of the bill, while 232 votes were cast against it. At the same time, this bill will be presented in the Rajya Sabha today.
After the bill was passed in the Lok Sabha, the UP Police became alert. In this connection, the police have kept an eye on 125 suspicious people from different police stations of Rae Bareli. The police are also keeping a close watch on social media. 25-25 suspicious people have been identified in five circles. The police have also held a meeting with Muslim religious leaders. The police also took out a flag march to maintain peace and order.
