New Delhi: With the fifth day of the monsoon session of the Parliament today, the proceedings for the lower house were adjourned until Monday afternoon. The adjournment came after the House passed the Indian Antarctic Bill 2022.
Meanwhile, Railway Minister in a written reply in Rajya Sabha said that the rain services were highly affected amidst the Agnipath protests across the country. According to the Railways ministry, a total of 2,132 trains were cancelled between 15 and 23 June.
Early afternoon the Rajya Sabha was last adjourned until 2:30 pm as the opposition staged protests over inflation and other issues. The Opposition leaders protested in the Parliament near the Gandhi statue for the same reason.
Ahead of the session today, the PM of India held a meeting with top cabinet ministers to discuss the government’s strategy in Parliament. Attendees included, among others, Union home minister Amit Shah and defence minister Rajnath Singh.
