NEW DELHI: The lower house of the parliament is adjourned likewise the Rajya Sabha and will adjourn after a month long recess.

Prior to the suspension of the proceedings, dpeaking on Market Intervention Schemes (MIS), Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman mentioned that prices support schemes, PM Asha and price stabilisation funds.

“They are all for support of farmers. We will ensure that the support continues. But they are undergoing rationalisation to enhance administrative efficiency. Therefore, the token provision under MIS, PSS Scheme has been made in this budget. Necessary provisions will be made during the course of the year upon approval of the rationalisation of the three schemes,” she said.

As per inputs, a Privilege Committee is going to be set up to inquire into suspension of Cong Rajya Sabha MP Rajani Patil.

Earlier in the day, the Rajya Sabha was also adjourned until March 13th as the opposition continued to urge Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar to revoke the suspension of Congress MP Rajani Patil. The Opposition also demanded the setting up of a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to probe allegations by the Hindenburg Research report against the Adani Group.
