DELHI: Union Civil Aviation Minister Harshdeep singh puri on Wednesday announced that the domestic flight operations will recommence from May 25 in a calibrated manner, amid the coronavirus lockdown 4.0.
Taking it to his twitter handle, He tweeted ” Domestic civil aviation operations will recommence in a calibrated manner from Monday 25th May 2020. All airports & air carriers are being informed to be ready for operations from 25th May. Special operating procedures (SOPs) for passenger movement are also being separately issued by @MoCA_GoI.”
On May 9, Puri had said that preparations to restart civil aviation operations are in place. “As soon as a decision is taken in this regard we will be able to take off immediately. We also foresee changes in the way people travelled thus far,” he added. “A calibrated reopening can happen after the lockdown.”
Notably, Commercial flights have been suspended since March 25 when the country-wide lockdown began to curb the spread of coronavirus.
