NEW DELHI: The last rites of Anjali are being carried out in Delhi amidst heavy security. The body was handed over to the family after the autopsy – that a medical board was ordered to rule out rumours on sexual assault prior to hit and run. The reports asserted that the girl died due to shock and heamorrhage due to injury to the head, spine, left femur and both limbs and that she was not a victim of sexual assault.
Moments ago the Delhi CM Kejriwal announced an ex-gratia to family of the Anjali Singh. He also added that the state gopvt would depute the best lawyer to fight the case.
“Spoke to the victim’s mother. Will get justice for the daughter. Will field the biggest lawyer. Her mother remains ill. Will get her fully treated. Will give a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the victim’s family. The government is with the victim’s family. If there is any need in future also we will fulfil them,” Kejriwal said in a tweet in Hindi.
Calling it the rarest of the rare crimes, the Delhi CM demanded the strictest punishment for those behind the death. Going by the media reports, it is learnt that Anjali was the breadmaker of the family. Her mother is suffering from a kidney ailment and requires dialysis.
The probe revealed the prescence of an eye witness- who apparantelty was also the piliion rider of Anjali and her friend. Nidhi- escaped from the spot uninured after seeing Anjali being dragged under the car. The reported Police reports also indicate that the men along with the driver in the car were under the influence of alcohol during the incident.
