LAKHIMPUR KHERI: The UP court has framed charges against Union Minister’s son Ashish Mishra and 13 others who mowed down four farmers and a journalist with an SUV in Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3rd while they protested against the three contentious farm laws.
According to the govt counsel (Criminal) Arvind Tripathi, the additional district Judge Sunil Kumar Verma has fixed December 16th as the nest date of hearing.
As many as four farmers and a journalist were mowed down by an SUV in Lakhimpur Kheri, while they held protests against. Ashish Mishra had filed for a drop from the case, which was rejected by the court on Monday. The 13 accused along with Mishra have been charged under sections 147 (rioting), 148 (rioting armed with deadly weapons), 149 (offence committed in prosecution of common object), 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons), 427 (mischief causing damage), 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC and Section 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
