Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani has been proud and grateful to be given the job of composing music in the Republic Day Parade 2026. He said on X that he was so honored to convey the news, having coincided with the 150th anniversary of the famous patriotic song Vande Mataram.
In his post, he wrote, dear all, Vande Mataram! With the celebration of 150 years of the famous song Vande Mataram, I am extremely pleased and honoured to compose music of the Republic Day Parade on 26 th January, in the presence of the Ministry of Culture. He also divulged that the great musical show will include close to 2,500 performers of all over the country who will gather to celebrate the unity, diversity and national feeling of India. Keeravani encourages people to watch what he termed as a national celebration.
In the meantime, 77th Republic Day celebrations are underway and rehearsals are underway at Kartavya Path in New Delhi in advance of January 26 parade.
To further make this year of celebrations very important, the European Council President Antonio Luís Santos da Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen are to be present as the chief guests. They will also visit during the 16 th EU-India Summit on January 27.
The two leaders will also be visiting to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to cement the EU-India strategic partnership. In a statement made by the EU, talks will concern the following points: trade, security and defence, clean energy transition, and people-to-people cooperation, highlighting the fact of the deepening of relationships between India and the European Union.
