Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai presented the 2023-24 state budget today and highlighted the achievements of the government over the past year. The total Own Tax Revenue of the state for the year 2023-24 is estimated to be Rs. 1,64,653 crores and Rs 11,000 crores collected from nn-tax revenue. For the first time after pandemic, the revenue receipt are estimated to be more than the revenue expenditure of Rs. 402 crores. Therefore, this budget is a Revenue Surplus Budget.
With the Assembly election in the state around the corner, Bommai’s budget has tried to please all sections of society. “With this, I am happy to inform you that all parameters specified in the Karnataka Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2002 have been compiled with”, CM Bommai concluded his budget speech.

Bengaluru’s perennial traffic woes and flooding issues have been the key points in the budget. Ropeway at Nandi Hills will be completed under the PPP model, said the chief minister. The cabinet has approved 50 cabins, each accommodating 10 passengers for this Rs. 93.40 crore ropeway project in 2022.
