NEW DELHI: Latest development in the Kanjhanwala hit and drag case reveals, pillion rider, the victims; friend was earlier arrested in a drug smuggling case.

According to the sources, she was intercepted at the Agra railway station for bringing drugs from Telangana, following which Nidhi was placed under arrest.

The police called Nidhi to join the investigation on Friday as there were contraindications in her previous version of the incident. Few more sections of IPC have been added in the case, sources said.

Seven accused who have been arrested in the hit and drag case for an accident that took on January 1st. Delhi’s Rohini Court on Friday remanded Ashutosh Bhardwaj, accused in the Kanjhawala hit-and-drag death case to three days of police custody.

Delhi Police sought remand to establish his presence in the car at the time of the incident. It is suspected that Ashutosh was in the car but he planted other accused Deepak as the driver. Ashutosh was physically presented before the court after he was arrested. Metropolitan magistrate Sanya Dalal granted three days of police custody of accused Ashutosh Bhardwaj after hearing the submission of Delhi police and legal aid counsel Shivani Sharma. The remand was sought for custodial interrogation, as one of the accused Ankush is still absconding.
