Kangna Ranaut has again whipped up controversy through her tweet about the recently-released Amazon Prime web series Tandav, following which she was brutally trolled by the netizens. Notably, according to a group of viewers, the web series has allegedly hurt the Hindu religious sentiments.

The Tweet, which Kangna deleted shortly after posting, read – “Because even Lord Krishna forgave 99 mistakes of Sheshupala… initially peace, and then follows the revolution… time to take their heads off… Jai Shri Krishan…”.

Soon after the tweet, several netizens started criticizing her for instigating violence towards the makers of the web series. Some of her fans came forward defending her, one among them sharing a Wiki screenshot showing ‘take the head off’ is an idiom indicating ‘to scold or berate someone severely’.

Later, the actress again took to her Twitter handle; referring to the makers as ‘insects’ and ‘worms’, she wrote in Hindi – “The liberals who are scared and crying to their mothers must read this. I did not ask for you to be beheaded. Even I know insects and worms need pesticide”.

Meanwhile, Ali Abbas Zafar, the director of the concerned web series, has posted a written apology on his Twitter handle on behalf of all his cast and crew, which read – “We have been closely monitoring viewer reactions to the web series Tandav and today during a discussion, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has informed us regarding a large number of grievances and petitions received on various facets of the web series with serious concerns and apprehensions regarding its content hurting the sentiments of the people”.
