Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut has always been on the news for her controversial tweets and remarks. The Bollywood ‘Queen’ finds a way to divulge in political fiascos every time there comes an issue with the governments. Now, after the Bengal election poll results, she left no stone unturned to bash the winning party and demanded ‘president rule’ in the state.
After her tweet went viral, Netizens bashed her left and right for her fascist mentality. Soon after, Twitter suspended her account stating that her tweet was against their community guidelines and could have provoked violence. Later, Kangana took to her Instagram account and expressed her views on the suspension. She posted a video with hashtags “death of democracy”, “Bengal violence” and “Bengal burning”.
A Twitter spokesperson said, “We’ve been clear that we will take strong enforcement action on behaviour that has the potential to lead to offline harm. The referenced account has been permanently suspended for repeated violations of Twitter Rules specifically our Hateful Conduct policy and Abusive Behaviour policy. We enforce the Twitter Rules judiciously and impartially for everyone on our service.”
Earlier, Kangana also received flak from several people for her comment on the oxygen shortages across the nation. Her tweet, “Everybody is building more and more oxygen plants, getting tons and tons of oxygen cylinders, how are we compensating for all the oxygen that we are forcefully drawing from the environment? It seems we learnt nothing from our mistakes and catastrophes they cause #PlantTrees”, seemed to have irritated the users a long time and they started questioning her common sense badly!
This isn’t the first time that the actor has been penalised by the social media platform. Earlier this year, certain restrictions were imposed on her account after she posted an incendiary tweet against Amazon Prime Video series Tandav, in which she said it was ‘time to take (the makers’) heads off’ for hurting religious sentiments.
