On Wednesday, Bollywood actor turned politician Kangana Ranaut gave her opinion about the suicide incident that erupted with a Bengaluru techie who committed suicide because of harassment from his wife and her family. This event, which has brought shockwaves in the nation, compelled Kangana Ranaut to share her surprise and react against ‘fake feminism’, which she asserts encourages the practice of using laws to derive funds from husbands.

The actor was overcome with words while detailing the techie’s death before ridiculing the growing number of women using the laws of the country for selfish gains. She also pointed out that fake feminism, which uses laws, has caused a lot of distress in marriages, extorting large amounts of money. But she also stated that in most contentious issues affecting marriages, it is mostly the men’s fault, which is why such unfortunate incidences may happen.

It has come to light not only because of the lives lost but also because of the statements of the techie’s brother regarding legal options male employees have against harassing wives. He said that the existing laws deny males the protection against similar forms of abuse and called for increased legal provisions regarding the for each gender. The family of the deceased has threatened to go to court to push for justice; the brother said the Indian government should pay attention to the matter.

He stated, in his plea, “Men too are victims of harassment, and laws” should be in force to safeguard them. The value of one man is the same as that of one woman, and it is now the time for the power to pay attention to this notion.” He also lamented over what he called inadequate police arrest in the case since the offense constitutes a serious nature and reaffirmed his family’s stand on the legal procedures.

As the case progresses, the debates about the rights of both the husband and the wife in matters to do with the law when in a marriage start to gain momentum.
