Srinagar: National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday carried out raids at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the terror funding case pertaining to the Jamaat-e-Islami, J & K. Official sources revealed that NIA sleuths were carried out in assistance by the local police and the CRPF in Rajouri, Poonch, Pulwama, Shopian, and a few other places.

Earlier, NIA had filed a suo-moto case about the funding pattern and activities of Al Huda Educational Trust that functions as a frontal entity for Jamaat-e-Islami. Jamaat-e-Islami was declared an unlawful association in 2019, but it continued to raise its funds in the pretext of charitable purposes. These funds were allegedly diverted to terrorist organizations such as Lashkar-e-Toiba, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.

Earlier in August, NIA had conducted raids at six places and recovered incriminating literature, receipt of funds raised by Jamaat-e-Islami, J&K Bank, and property related documents and electronic devices.
