NEW DELHI: With the commencement of JEE Main exam today, the National Testing Agency, or NTA, has taken security measures keeping in mind the norms of social distancing. The candidates were allowed to enter the JEE exam centre only after a thermal scan. No flouting of any precautionary measures were observed at the first shift of JEE Mains which was scheduled from 9 am to 12 pm. The BArch paper was conducted in the first shift today.
Additionally, at the end of the examination, candidates were asked to drop their JEE Main 2020 admit card and rough worksheets at the collection box in the exam centres.
Keeping the safety of the students in mind, before the start of each exam shift and after the last shift ends, all seats will be thoroughly sanitised and the work stations and keyboards will be disinfected. In addition to this, while all the students have been asked to go to the exam centres with masks and sanitisers, once they enter the centre, they need to use the masks provided by the examination authority, informed the NTA officials.
The exam for BPlanning is set to be conducted in the from 3 pm to 6 pm. Candidates who wish to sit for both the exams, BArch and BPlanning, will have to appear for an exam of 3 hours each.
The sanitisation of seating area, including monitor, keyboard, mouse, webcam, desk and chair, are among the steps the NTA has taken for safely conducting JEE Main 2020.
JEE Main Exam: Major Guidelines to be followed
- The use of face masks and gloves, as well as carrying individual hand sanitiser and a water bottle has been made mandatory for all the students.
- Students need to wash their hands and apply sanitiser before entering the JEE Main exam centre.
- Candidates need to clear thermal scans before entering exam halls.
- The entrance to the exam centre was staggered and there is an ‘isolation rooms’ for candidates whose body temperature is above a prescribed limit.
- Five blank sheets will be provided to candidates at their desks.
- Candidates will be asked to sit with a gap between two seats
- Hand sanitizers will be kept at the entry of the exam venue. Every candidate needs to sanitize their hands before entering the exam hall.
- Invigilators will be required to wear the mask and gloves at all times.
