To discourage more terrorist incidents against India, Foreign Minister Jaishankar stated that New Delhi will strike at terrorist hubs within Pakistan where the danger comes from. He delivered the comments while appearing in an interview with POLITICO in Brussels as he met with top EU officials for trade talks.

Although just several weeks have passed since a sharp flare-up of military activities, a ceasefire has been secured and declared by India and Pakistan. It began with Pakistan using missiles and drones inside India, trying to respond to India’s bold military move called Operation Sindoor.

Right after the April 22 attack in Pahalgam on civilians, 26 of them losing their lives, army operations named Operation Sindoor were launched. India’s actions were said to cause major problems for Pakistan’s military, especially in the Air Force, leading Pakistan to reach out for calm.

In a strong and clear manner, Jaishankar pointed out that India will respond by sending troops deep into Pakistan if Pakistan-based militants attack. He pointed out that Pakistan uses terrorism in its state affairs, which in turn creates challenges in the region.

According to Jaishankar, as current Indo-Pak relations depend on Pakistan’s support for terrorism, peace is always in danger. He acknowledged that the Rafale jets and more contributed to India’s striking and destroying Pakistani airfields, a proof of India’s great military strength and swift willingness to respond to Pakistan’s attack.
