New Delhi: A day after Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused the Centre of hacking her childrens’ social profiles, the IT Ministry has taken cognizance of the allegations and ordered a probe. MeitYs Indian Computer Emergency Response Team is set to investigate the matter sources reported.
The matter came to light when Ms Gandhi exploded on being questioned by media reporters on phone tapping of opposition leaders in UP. She said, “ Leave alone phone tapping, the govt is targeting my children on social media. My children’s Instagram accounts have been hacked. Don’t they have any other work?” A recent accusation by Samajwadi party President Akhilesh Yadav has brought in controversy in the political arena of UP.
Following the allegations by Ms Gandhi, husband Robert Vadra threatened legal action in the matter saying, “we have the proof of what we are saying and we will definitely take recourse to the law.”
The CERT-In, which is authorized to probe the matter is a nodal agency to deal with security threats like hacking and phishing. It strengthens the security-related defence of the Indian internet domain.
